Foodhallen is no less than a former tram depot. Now it has been transformed into an indoor food market where almost everything is available. Well, I consider Foodhallen as Amsterdam’s answer to street food, but with a chic twist. 


Foodhallen has a very vibrant and bustling ambiance. You can go there for a group outing or a fun date. When I visited this street, I could only hear the hum of conversation and the clink of plates.


Here, menu highlights are artisan cheeses, Asian fusion, croquettes, and many more. But I grabbed a hearty burger from the rotating pop-up stalls. And for dessert, I tried their doughnuts.


Well, my dining experience in Foodhallen was amazing. I had the best croquettes of my life in this market. Also, I was wandering around it and trying every sample of the stalls.


There is an open-air terrace in the Foodhallen market. You will feel relaxed there, especially when the weather is nice. And it’s conveniently close to attractions like Vondelpark.


Tip: I suggest visiting Foodhallen on weekdays to avoid the weekend rush. And yes, check out the secret cocktail bar tucked at the back of this market.

Coming to the ambiance of De Kas, it’s very romantic and serene. There are some large windows here that let in the natural light and see the surrounding greenery. I feel it’s the best place for a quiet evening.


The menu in De Kas changes based on their seasonal produce. So the menu highlights in De Kas are a draw for me. But my favorite dishes in this restaurant were roasted root vegetables and homemade herb-infused bread.


My dining experience in De Kas was great. It was a true escape for me. One of the staff there walked me through the garden, and I even spotted the chef picking herbs for the dish.

Let me tell you that De Kas is a bit off the beaten path, but it’s also peaceful.


Tip: It’s best that you make a reservation beforehand. Also, De Kas’s tasting menu changes regularly. So ask your server for recommendations based on your preferences.

Here, the menu highlights are the blue pancakes and the avocado toast with poached eggs.

I visited this restaurant on a sunny day and found myself enjoying the view. So my dining experience was fabulous. You can also go there for a relaxed afternoon.


Don’t miss the outdoor seating on the terrace. You will feel delightful there when the weather is nice.


Tip: For the best view, visit during sunset. But don’t go during peak hours; it gets busy at that time.

I got caught in a drizzle on my way when I visited The Pancake Bakery. But I was so happy to find a warm, inviting space like this. Also, the smell of pancakes was increasing my cravings over time.


I suggest visiting The Pancake Bakery every time you visit the nearby Anne Frank House.

Coming to the dining experience, Flower Burger is good in this part. The staff was super friendly, and the food was very delicious and colorful. I felt like I was marveling at the rainbow-hued buns while biting them!


If you are a vegan who likes colorful decor, Flower Burger is for you. Here, every meal feels like a special occasion.
